I Woke Up at 7:00AM For a Week & Here’s How It Went
I should have named this “I Woke Up at 7:30am (and later) For a Week & Here’s How It Went” because that is ultimately what ended up happening.
Tuesday
I set my alarm for 7, 7:15, and 7:30 mostly because I didn’t know how my body would react and didn’t want to sleep through my alarm. I did in fact snooze until 7:30 and didn’t get out of bed until 7:40. Although this was not the goal it was a lot earlier than when I normally get up so I was content.
I had time to make a good breakfast, and ate in peace instead of multitasking or eating while driving on my way to work. I didn’t have to rush getting ready and I even had time to make/pack a lunch, which was fantastic for my bank account and my tummy.
Wednesday
My goal this morning was to be out of bed BY 7:30 so I could go on a 20 minute walk before really starting my day. I set my alarm for 7 and 7:15 and wouldn’t you know, I still got out of bed at 7:40 (and did not go for a walk.) I think most people would be frustrated by this but I was actually still very impressed at my 7:40 start time.
By the end of the day on Wednesday I was definitely tired, but still had more energy throughout the day than normal and wasn’t dragging once it hit 5:00 and was time to go home.
Thursday
Now, I normally have a 9:30 start time, hence trying to get up at 7 every morning but every other Thursday I stay later, which means I also go in later. I decided to let myself sleep an extra hour and get up at 8, so naturally I woke up at 8:30.
Friday and Saturday (Ouch)
These two days went horribly wrong. I woke up 30 minutes before I had to leave. I went on no walks, rushed to get ready, and ate while driving to work.
In my defense this was my first week back after a week off so I’m going to chalk it up to my body adjusting after my vacation.
After all is said and done, I’m still not a morning person but getting up at 7:00am (7:30) was something I could do and not be completely miserable about.
Casually,
Sarah
